Hair brings one's self-image into focus; it is vanity's proving ground. Hair is terribly personal, a tangle of mysterious prejudices. ~Shana Alexander
Recently, I was watching a couple of fashion shows from the London Fashion Week, which I couldn't help but blog about one in particular, which entertained my eye.
Together, Joanne Hynes and Helen Steele launched their new Authum/Winter 2011 collection. They called the line "Les Guerriers". The clothes and hair were inspired by the west of Ireland, pirate queens and a range of different art.
AWE STRUCK?? Because I was. The head pieces and different styles are actually INCREDIBLE. I liked the way that a ROPE STYLE PLAIT was merged with a MOHAWK on some of the models. It was VERY creative.
ALSO, you can see the western Ireland influence in the head pieces. The timber pieces remind me of the crannogs that were built out of sticks in the stone-age. Hair accessories have also become VERY popular recently and as seen in the photos, they work very well. Why not try some out?? Could work out well for you, its worth a try.
I am REALLY glad that hair plays a BIG role in a show that was involved in the London Fashion Week. More collections may now start to give a little more attention to hair. It really adds the final touch to the outfits, creating and overall, BETTER IMAGE.
